Wednesday, December 3rd

Another beautiful day in paradise. The sky has cleared, and we plan to make the most of it.

Jerry made bacon and eggs, which we enjoyed on the lanai. We were joined by our first gecko. Yesssss!

While reviewing yesterday's photos, we found some annoying spots we can't fix (ourselves) by cleaning the camera, so we set out to find Lighthouse Camera in Kahului. They were wonderful - diagnosed "crud on the sensor" and cleaned it at no charge. We purchased a remote for the camera, which we plan to use tonight on the moon/Jupiter/Venus trio - so it wasn't a complete waste of time for the camera techs.

We headed back to the north shore, and watched the surfers again. What an amazing form of exercise.

On the way home we meandered through the artsy shops of Paia (think Cannon Beach), and had lunch at Charley's. I was disappointed, of course, that Willy Nelson didn't come out and serve us personally, but I guess he had the day off.

In the afternoon, we noticed a wedding taking place on the beach below us. I took photos, then ran down and introduced myself (most of you know Jerry and I were married on the beach). I got the couple's email address and will send them the photos later tonight.

Returning from our sunset walk on the beach, we found two more geckos on our porch. The light attracts the moths, which attract the geckos. We love the little critters - they are a symbol of good luck, and we have been truly blessed with good luck.

Jerry's in the kitchen making a giant salad for our dinner. I'm about to set up the tripod to start the sky shots - I hope to have something to share with you tomorrow.

Today's book count: Halfway through J. A. Jance's Justice Denied.
